Carmen Ojeda and Camilo Ponce

Carmen Ojeda and Camilo Ponce have been running this finca for over 12 years. Their venture started as a curious and intrepid bid to improve their livelihoods and even though it hasn’t been all easy at times, they are very passionate about producing coffee.

As small independent producers who live in an area with limited access to towns and cities, Carmen and Camilo struggle to compete with bigger and well-established fincas of the region. The lack of an organised association in the area makes it difficult for them to outreach to outside markets. Nonetheless, these farmers produce delicious coffee and have even won a price in the regional competition for Specialty coffees in 2017.

This couple, of humorous and gentle character, are very attached to their land and are proud farmers. Their coffee reflects the warmth and welcoming culture of the Ecuadorian countryside.
